Look what we got in the mail!

Isn’t it beautiful? It was sent to us by China Odyssey Tours.

Last February, on a whim, I entered their Memorable Moments Contest for a chance to win a trip to Tibet – the grand prize being a private Tibet tour worth $10,000 USD. I uploaded some photos and a quick blurb to their site then forgot about it for a while. A month later, and a week before the end of the contest, I discovered we were tied for first place. A few days later, we were tied for 2nd place with two other wonderful entries (2nd prize was a trip to Thailand). In the end, we got 3rd place, along with many others.

Serena from China Odyssey Tours contacted us to inform us of the good news. Two weeks later, we received a gorgeous handmade Pingyao jewelry box painted with beautiful magnolia flowers (a symbol of pure love) painted in the front. Inside we found a small box containing an exquisitely handmade Miao Silver Necklace, and an even smaller box with a delicate Miao flower silver pendant. I was so impressed with how beautifully packaged it was. It even came with a little booklet with my name on it, explaining where and how each item was made. My girls were enthralled!
