Deniz our Friend

By Edmund of Wardrobe (age 4)

When we were in Kusadasi staying in Sezgin Hotel, we met our new friend Deniz. He’s a nice guy and I like him. We played ball with him and went to the candy store with him. Denis told us to listen to our mom and dad and eat our food. He took us to the park and played with us and got us so much candy. Dad and Mom didn’t want us to have anymore candy ’cause we went crazy.

Denis took us at his house to see his family and the chickens. We saw some Iranian chickens. They look different from normal chickens. They have long necks and polka dot (black with white dots) feathers. Denis says they lay 8 shape eggs. They were cool chickens. Denis got us fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast. He cooked us Turkish eggs with white cream cheese his mom made for our breakfast. Denis is a good egg cooker.

When we had to say goodbye, I was sad. I cried and then I said bye. He is my friend. I love him. I miss him. I hope I see him again. That’s all I want to say.

Dear Edmund, Did you think of Deniz your friend today? Did he like candy, too? I’ll bet he misses you. We love you, Grandma & Grandpa

I’m happy you have made so many great friends like Denis on your travels. I am sure he misses all of you as well. Hopefully, you will all see each other soon!
